Make it safe for late night workers

I am writing to you in support of late night retail workers regarding the proposed changes to the Working Alone or in Isolation Regulation (Part 4). I agree with the changes to this regulation and feel that they are an important step in minimizing the risk of violence to workers who work in the late night retail sector. Ensuring employers have measures in place that would require two people or a physical barrier between the customers and the workers will contribute to preventing workplace violence. It is just common sense. The Board is also proposing 24 hour pre-payment in gas stations and I support this recommendation. These workers, often young people and new immigrants, deserve the full protection that WCB can provide. I urge you to adopt these changes and in order to fully protect these workers, ensure the regulations are enforced.
