Fast Facts: Tax Cuts

  • The income tax cuts between 2000 and 2008 benefited the rich. For example, a person earning $15,000 had a tax cut of $56, while a person on $150,000 benefited from a $6403 tax cut
  • In 2007, the top 6 percent of taxpayers received $148 million in tax cuts while those in the bottom 55 percent of earners received $84 million in tax cuts
