Minimum Wage Petitioning at the BC Lions Game

Date: Friday August 31, 2007 from 4:30 am to 6:30 am

On Friday, August 31st, the B.C. Federation of Labour’s Campaign to win a wage increase for BC’s lowest paid workers will be visiting the BC Lions Game.

With the help of community partners and dozens of enthusiastic volunteers, the Federation has continued to have a presence at major cultural events throughout the summer and has received fantastic support for a $10 minimum wage.  Combined with the online petition the Campaign has collected over 22,000 signatures and the number is rising daily.

Please join us at the Game to gather more petition signatures.  We will thank our volunteers with game tickets.  Please contact Sharon Barbour at the Federation at 604-430-1421 for more information about volunteering and to confirm your participation.

WHEN:          FRIDAY, AUGUST 31st – 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm

WHERE:        BC Place - Terry Fox Plaza, Beatty and Robson
