CANCELLED - Line of Work Dedication Ceremony

Date: Thursday August 20, 2009 from 10:00 am to 10:00 am

Unfortunately the following event has been cancelled. It is being re-scheduled for a later date.

Please join WorkSafeBC, the Labour Heritage Centre and the Vancouver Convention Centre to dedicate Line of Work, an artistic depiction honouring BC’s working men and women through history.

Line of Work celebrates the evolution of work in British Columbia - from iron monger to underwater welder and website programmer and represents the increasing sense of protection that workers experience as our province moves forward in time.

Adjacent to Line of Work are panels recognizing how workers meet the challenge of serious workplace injury and disease. To learn more about Line of Work and all that it represents, we invite you to attend. Presentations will be made by:

  • Honourable Murray Coell, Minister of Labour
  • Dave Anderson, President and CEO, WorkSafeBC
  • Jack Munro, Chair, Labour Heritage Centre
  • Michelle Laurie, Chair, BC Federation of Labour Occupational Health and Safety Committee
  • Mel Camilli, injured worker
  • Grant McMillan, President, Council of Construction Associations
  • Shannon Payne, widow of Craig Payne

Location: Southwest Corner of Thurlow Plaza 1055 Canada Place Vancouver, BC V6C 0C3

Light refreshments will follow the ceremony and viewing in Room 201.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP to 604 207-1433 or email belinda.becker@worksafebc.com
